Refrigerator repair in Canyon Country

These are refrigerator and freezer problems we repair in Canyon Country:

• The freezer is cold but the fridge side is warm. On side-by-side and French-door models, cold air reaches the fresh-food side through a fan and a damper. When the evaporator fan motor fails, the damper sticks, or frost builds up because a defrost part has failed, the fridge warms while the freezer keeps working. All of these are repairable.
• Ice maker or water dispenser stopped. The cause can be a water valve, a frozen fill line or an ice-maker assembly. If it started right after a power outage or surge, tell us when you book; it can point to a control problem.
• Running constantly but not cold enough. Worn door gaskets and dirty condenser coils make the compressor run longer, especially in summer heat. When we're already repairing the fridge, we can clean the condenser coils while we're there.
• Compressor running, no cooling at all. This can mean a sealed-system failure: a refrigerant leak or a failing compressor. On an older refrigerator that repair can cost more than the unit is worth. We'll tell you plainly.

Gas dryers that run but don't dry

When a gas dryer tumbles and runs but leaves clothes damp, likely causes are a failed heat sensor or thermal fuse, a gas valve coil, or an igniter. When we're already repairing a dryer, we can clear lint from inside the cabinet while we're there. A blocked exhaust vent makes a dryer overheat and can trip its safety parts again. Quick checks before you call

• Refrigerator: make sure food isn't blocking the vents inside, the doors close fully, and the temperature setting wasn't changed. After a power outage, give it a few hours to pull back down to temperature.
• Dryer: clean the lint screen, then run the dryer and check outside that the vent flap opens. If the flap doesn't move, the vent is likely blocked.
• Any appliance: note the model number and any error code.
