Wine Cooler Leaking

• Clogged drain opening — Dust, mold or a bit of debris can block the small drain at the bottom of the cabinet, at the base of the back wall on many models, so defrost water pools inside and spills out under the door.
• Drip pan cracked or out of place — The pan that catches defrost water sits by the compressor at the base, and a cracked pan, or one bumped off its spot, lets the water reach the floor.
• Cabinet tilting forward — A cooler that leans toward the front can send defrost water to the door instead of the drain.
• Worn door gasket — Humid room air slipping past a gap in the gasket condenses on the cold walls and can collect faster than the drain carries it away.
• Frost melting all at once — Frost that builds up on the back wall after a door left ajar or a cooling fault can melt in one go and overflow the drain.
• Water from a nearby line — A cooler that sits beside a sink or dishwasher can collect water from a leak in that plumbing, which looks like the cooler is leaking.

• Water pooling on the cabinet floor under the bottom rack — The drain opening is blocked, or the cabinet leans forward.
• Puddle on the floor at the front of the unit — Water inside is spilling past the door, or the drip pan at the base is overflowing or cracked.
• Drops running down the inside of the glass door — Humid room air is getting in, past a worn gasket or with frequent door openings on a humid day, and condensing on the cold glass.
• A sheet of ice on the back wall before the leak began — Frost built up and then melted faster than the drain could take it.
• Water running toward the cooler from a nearby cabinet or wall while the floor inside the cooler stays dry — The water is likely coming from a nearby sink, dishwasher or other water line, and if it has reached the cooler's cord or outlet, switch off the breaker before touching the plug.
